GravNet Deadlock Ability

“Norwegian operative Deadlock deploys an array of cutting-edge nanowire to secure the battlefield from even the most lethal assault. No one escapes her vigilant watch, nor survives her unyielding ferocity.” –

Deadlock's Abilities

EQUIP (E) a Barrier Mesh disc. FIRE (Left Click) to throw forward. Upon landing, the disc generates barriers from the origin point that block character movement.

EQUIP (C) a GravNet grenade. FIRE (Left Click) to throw. ALT FIRE (Right Click) to lob the grenade underhand. The GravNet detonates upon landing, forcing any enemies caught within to crouch and move slowly.

EQUIP (Q) a Sonic Sensor. FIRE (Left Click) to deploy. The sensor monitors an area for enemies making sound. It concusses that area if footsteps, weapons fire, or significant noise are detected.
EQUIP (X) a Nanowire Accelerator. FIRE (Left Click) to unleash a pulse of nanowires that captures the first enemy contacted. The cocooned enemy is pulled along a nanowire path and will die if they reach the end, unless they are freed. The nanowire cocoon is destructible.

Deadlock's Lore & Background

Deadlock, a Scandivanian woman and the 23rd agent to join as the fifth Sentinel in the VALORANT Protocol, brings an intriguing backstory and unique set of skills to the battlefield.

Before her appearance in the VALORANT Protocol roster, Deadlock was known as Iselin and was a member of the renowned organization called Ståljeger. She belonged to their Ursa team, who was entrusted with the responsibility to escort Kingdom scientist Anton Dorsey to “The Vault” in Norway as part of Project Landfall. Their mission was to retrieve a radivore bear and transport it to the US. However, things took a dark turn during a confrontation with the bear. Tragically, her teammates and Dorsey lost their lives, and Iselin herself suffered severe injuries, resulting in the loss of her left arm. Before fainting, she set off a beacon for help.

Sova was investigating the Project Landfall facilities nearby when he heard Deadlock’s faint beacon. It can be assumed he saved her life and brought her to VALORANT Headquarters.

Thanks to the brilliant work of Killjoy, she was given a prosthetic arm and a new lease on life. The encounter with the radivore bear left a lasting impact on Deadlock, leading to her uneasiness around these creatures. This tension is palpable in her relationship with Gekko, who possesses a crew of four radivores.

It’s worth highlighting Deadlock’s exceptional technological prowess. Like other human sentinels, she possesses a remarkable skillset in working with and creating her own technology. In fact, she left Brim a voicemail that she designed crates specifically for detaining Gekko’s radivore crew (Patch 7.03). This resourcefulness and ingenuity play a crucial role in her gameplay and story.
